COLORED VERSION: by the amazing
I had drawn this about 2 weeks ago at a pancake house. I wanted to give it to one of the waitresses for the excellent service, but I had to leave before it was finished. I'm sorry for not getting your gift to you in time, miss.
ANYWAY, this is a napkin-drawn Sonic image based off of my favorite Sonic 3 & Knuckles level of all time: FLYING BATTERY.
It was also a test with radically dynamic angles. My biggest influence was the music itself, namely the double-Act mix (after listening to it, the music will forever feel empty to me without both acts together), and I enjoyed listening to it over and over.
Listen to it's amazing-ness here: [link]
The image captures familiar moments from the stellar level, from the self-defense suppressive missile fire to the first encounter with the double-piston makeshift monkey-bars. You'll notice that some aspects of the image aren't necessarily accurate (namely the missile launch basins and the first badnik), but this is a traditional-styled ink image on a flimsy napkin, it's not like I can fix that. Besides, 3/4 of this was made entirely from memory. On another note, this was also drawn during my art hiatus, and I WANTED to upload it, I just never got around to scanning it.
Sorry for the creases across the image, I had to put it in a plastic bag for it to survive unscathed, and there were only small ones available. T_TOh, and blue eyes. Ruined forever.
