This, surprisingly enough, took around the same amount of time that "Sonic Colours Tricks" did. If not less. I had fun with this one, and I would gladly make it again. (okay not really). And YES I am aware that I used a 10.5-second segment of the "Asteroid Coaster (Act 3)" theme on a Tropical Resort backdrop. It felt better, okay? On a side not, you'll notice something new. Technical effects! You know, like the dust that bounds into the air. Which was quite easy to animate. Easier than I ever would have thought.
But enough about this dribble. Watch the animation!
Made with Adobe Flash CS4 24 frames per second 254 frames total (10.5 seconds) 9 layers (not including Symbols) 3-4 day time-span
So, let's start with the things that I like about this.
- I really like how smooth this is. It really looks like the animation is a reality event. I love how you did that. - I love how the sky isn't just a solid colour. It has some lighter areas, and a hint of purple-ish there. That really caught my attention. - The way the ending blurs out, but the letters are so clear really caught my attention. Of course, people can do that in a program with layers, but the way you did it really caught my eye. Nice work on that.
Now, for this things I have a bad side for.
- The background is good, but I feel like it could use some more shading. It just looks too solid. Try to add a shading effect to the background, it'd look more real. - I think the smoke that goes behind Sonic when he runs into that den could use some blur to it. It kinda looks too solid to me. If you add some blur to that, it'd look more real.
So, other than those, I really love this animation! You did a great job on it, and I can't wait to see your future works!
Seamless. Seamless, seamless, seamless and surprisingly smooth animation. In fact, better than most of the animations you've previously submitted to this site. I'm actually very proud of you for this, good job, Aero. Now, onto the actual animation. Not knowing about the game or gameplay (seeing as we both know I've been preoccupied with the OTHER one), a critique on the music/background/enemies really wouldn't be justified, but what I do have to say is that it fits very, very well. Reading your artist's comment (where you explicitly stated that the music you used wasn't the one that matched the stage) made me realise that you don't always have to put the pieces together to make it whole. I, in my own personal opinion, think it actualy made the fit quite well (the music and the stage, regardless of how they were matched). It set the mood of the animation, it actually worked with what you did with Sonic and it also sounded pretty damn cool (screw the rules, we have coolness). What I really, really liked about this was the smoke effect you gave Sonic when he dashed off. It looked very, very flash. The next time you use the effect, I recommend you add different elements to it (such as sparks near his shoes or making the smoke sharper and possibly a little lighter in tone.) I can obviously see the effort you put into this - and in all honesty, for only a few days work you did a pretty damn good job. Amazing, Aero. Amazing.
it's just so funny like when those egg pawns are just standing there like they don't give a freak and then boom they dont even bother to look behind them it's just stupid anyway i like your flash
